Be on the Lookout for These IRS Letters in January

Now that 2021 has ended, it’s time to turn your thoughts to tax season. The first set of tax documents could be hitting your mailbox soon.

In January 2022, the IRS will send individual taxpayers the following two letters as applicable:

• Letter 6419 (Child Tax Credit) provides the total amount of advance Child Tax Credit payments that were disbursed during 2021. This letter can help you claim the remainder of your 2021 credit.
• Letter 6475 (Economic Impact Payment) provides the total Round 3 Stimulus payments received. This letter can help you claim your 2021 recovery rebate credit.

Do not throw these letters away! Please keep them with your tax records and provide them to your SGA tax professional when we file your 2021 tax return during the 2022 tax filing season.
