Dale S. Van Valkenburgh
In 1946, Dale S. Van Valkenburgh (1901-1965) founded an accounting firm in downtown Manhattan on the corner of Poyntz Ave. and 4th St. The old Union National Bank building housed a number of offices, including that of the original business now known as Manhattan's most enduring accounting firm: Sink, Gordon & Associates LLP. Van Valkenburgh's firm grew from a few staff at the Manhattan location in 1946 to over 60 highly respected employees in four locations serving north central Kansas today. Together with longtime partner Roger A. Sink, who joined the firm as a student in 1955 and became a partner in 1961, Van Valkenburgh was a pillar of Manhattan’s oldest and largest accounting firm.
